Is The Ordinary Habit for people with Alcohol Use Disorder (AUD)?
No, The Ordinary Habit is not designed for individuals with AUD. This framework is intended to help people change habits that prevent them from living a truly fulfilling life. We recommend that individuals with AUD seek assistance elsewhere, starting with their doctor. For your reference, there is a list of organizations you can find here on this website.
Can I do it by myself?
The Ordinary Habit framework is designed to enable you to transform by yourself through the exercises provided in the book. However, it can be challenging to undertake this process alone. That’s why we are developing an online course (available Fall 2024) to guide you through the process in a different way. For those who do not typically see themselves as readers, this can also be an excellent alternative
Is there a community I can join?
The Ordinary Habit is active on Facebook, Instagram, and LinkedIn with pages open to everyone interested. For those looking to connect with peers in a more intimate setting, there is a private Facebook group specifically for attendees and alumni of the online course.
Will there be translated versions of the book?
Based on demand, translated versions of the book will become available in the future. Currently, there are no active plans to pursue this.
Can I use the method for other habits like screentime or smoking marihuana?
Feedback from our readers who do not have a habit of regular drinking has indicated that they still found the framework useful for changing other habits they were struggling with. One of our future developments is to extend our offerings to include support for changing other habits as well.
